When pinging other systems a general failure is returned with the Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud agent installed

Issue/Introduction

With the Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud (SEP SBE cloud) agent installed some systems are not replying to pings and return a general failure

Resolution

The following steps will need to completed to reset the SEP SBE cloud firewall:

  1. Open a Command Prompt as an Administrator
  2. Type the following commands to open the Administrative User Interface:
    • cd c:\
    • cd \program files\Symantec.Cloud\AntiVirus
    • avagent -SHOW_UI
  3. In the interface that opens, click on Settings
  4. Select Firewall
  5. Click Reset

Note:  Please ensure that the SEP SBE cloud user interface is closed before running the commands to open the Administrative Interface, otherwise the Administrative Interface will not open.
