VIP Enterprise Gateway Validation Server delegation server description and use

Resolution

When migrating from a legacy authentication solution to the VIP Service, the Validation Server allows authentication requests to be delegated to handle authentication requests.

You can forward validation requests to a delegated server when a validation server cannot successfully authenticate a request. If you specify a delegation server, validation requests are sent to the delegate server under the following circumstances:

– The user is not in the User Store. 
– The user does not exist in the VIP Authentication Service (VIP Cloud).
– The user exists in the VIP Authentication Service but has no bound credentials.
