Issue/Introduction

If a user’s system clock time differs from the VIP Service time by more than 30 seconds, the Registered Credential installation will fail with a generic Failed to install plug-in error message. (3927781)

Resolution

This is as designed. If a user’s system clock differs more than 30 seconds from the VIP Service clock, credentials will continually get out of sync.

If a user receives a generic Failed to install plug-in error message when installing a Registered Computer credential, have the user synchronize the system clock with a trusted public time authority and try again.
