Issue/Introduction

Receiving “Connection Refused” error intermittently with  vipgoidservices-auth.symantec.com in the their environment

TELNET Connectivity Showing failures to 216 address and success to 69 address:

$ date +%r; telnet 216.182.252.152 443

Connected to 69.58.182.50.

telnet> close
Connection closed.

Cause

The DNS server was resolving to an incorrect ip address “216.182.252.152”.

Resolution

After flushing the DNS, the correct IP address could be resolved.
