VIPUIManager.exe runs even after exiting the program in VIP Desktop Client

Issue/Introduction

Customer would like to know if there is a way to kill the service VIPUIManager.exe upon exiting the VIP Desktop Client?

 

Resolution

This can be achieved by creating a registry key “PolicyStandalone” (REG_SZ) and set the value to “1” under this path:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\VIP Access Client] or ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\VIP Access Client] on 64 bit systems).
