Issue/Introduction

When sending a one-time password to a mobile device, you may receive the following error message:

Error=4e16 The phone number has not been previously registered for this account

Cause

This error occurs when the phone number is not registered for the following Symantec Identity Protection (VIP) account.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, register the phone number for the mobile device and try again.
