Authentication on VIP self-registration page fails using Extended ASCII German Special Character "ö" ö umlaut
If there are any restriction on the password for VIP?
It turned out that Users are not able to use the VPN Client authentication using the new VIP Access code, and the root cause was because he used again the special character "ö" in this NT password (a German "umlaut" – same as the "ä" in Users former password, see below).
These were the steps to capture the root cause:
• VPN Client: the login prompt returned all times, and we confirmed that the password creation was done correctly
• Tried to log in to the VIP Self Registration page at https://vipssp.spansion.com:8233/vipssp, but it failed with the same authentication error that User had before
• User changed only the character "ö" in his password to another character, and tried again above steps
• The self registration page logged him properly in, asking for a second authentication with the VIP Access code as expected.
• The VPN Client connection did also work at first attempt now
