How to view and configure the policies for Credentials and usage in VIP Manager

Resolution

You can view and configure the Credential policies in VIP Manager. These policies allow an account to:

Enable the different types of hardware and software credentials that your end users can register within the VIP Self Service Portal / My VIP Portal. (Note: This also applies to VIP Administrators manually registering credentials for users within the VIP Manager).

If you decide not to enable all VIP credentials by selecting "No", then you need to de-select the specific hardware and/or software credentials that you want disabled. Your selection does not affect previously-registered VIP credentials and will not remove credentials from users that are no longer allowed.

Enable other credential types for your end users that need to be delivered through SMS or Voice.

Select how many credentials an end user can have registered at any one time (between 1 - 5)

Choose whether a credential can be registered to more than one end user within your organization at the same time.

These policies are configured under the Policies tab:

Note: Desktop Credentials (Hardware) vs. Desktop Credentials (Software)?

Desktop Credentials under the 'Hardware' section refer to VIP Desktop Credentials that make a use of the Intel IPT chip; which comes with some devices.

On the other hand, Desktop Credentials under the 'Software' section are for those devices that do not utilize an Intel IPT chip.
