When does the automatic update check process run?
[ANSWER ] The VIP Access windows client live update triggers at every 15th days from the install/lastUpdate time. We have service running which checks the update in background every 15th days and shows the popup if the update is available.
In case the system was not up for say 16 days, the next time(say 17th day) user boots the machine, the live update popup will immediately appear if there is any update available for the client. We don't show the live update popup every 15th days if there is no update available.
Is there a way to turn off the auto update check function rather than ticking off the auto update check option?
[ANSWER ] We do have registry entry which can be set to disable the Live update. This is well documented in the Release Notes document.
What Windows user privilege is necessary for installation of a updated version of the application through the auto update process?
[ANSWER ] User needs admin privileges to initiate the Live update process.
