Software not getting installed through Managed Software Delivery Policy

Issue/Introduction

Certain software cannot be installed through Managed Software Delivery Policy however the status shows success. The same software can be installed through Quick Delivery task.

Environment

Software Management Solution version 7.x.x and 8.x.x

Cause

There is a compliance check involved in case of Package Delivery Task. If the compliance check succeeds due to any reason the install will not start and send the status as success. There is no compliance check for Quick Delivery Task, so it will always attempt the install.

Resolution

It is recommended to use Quick Delivery Task for a software with this kind of an issue.
