Many instances of conathst.exe when using Firefox browser 51.0.1 on Windows XP

Issue/Introduction

The Norton Security Toolbar Add-On is opening many instances of conathst.exe on Windows XP when using Firebox browser version 51.0.1 with Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud (SEP SBE) installed.

Resolution

Rolling back to an earlier version of Firefox (50.1.0 or earlier) or disabling the Norton Security Toolbar Add-On will resolve the issue.

• To roll back to an earlier version of Firefox browser (50.1.0) choose one of the following links:
  • Windows XP SP2 Firefox installer direct download link
  • Windows XP SP3 Firefox installer direct download link
• To disable the Norton Security Toolbar Add-On follow the browser specific steps found here (may require a reboot to stop the multiple conathst.exe processes)
