Endpoint Protection Auto-Protect exclusion limitations

Issue/Introduction

When creating a large centralized exception policy in Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP), you notice that several Auto-Protect exclusions fail to apply.  The following error is seen in vpdebug logs:  

10:20:14.834185[_684][_696]|AP Exclusion: F:\MSSQL\DATA
10:20:14.834447[_684][_696]|CSAVRTExclusions::AddDirectoryExclusions -- Could
not add Directory based exception!

Cause

Auto-Protect has a built in limitation of 1000 exclusions.  

Resolution

Limit your centralized exception policy to 1000 Auto-Protect exclusions or less.
