Issue/Introduction

Installation of Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud (SEP SBE) fails with a message stating that normaliz.dll is not found when installing on Windows XP.

normaliz.dll is not found

Cause

The file is missing or SEP SBE requires a newer version of the normaliz.dll file.

Resolution

Add the latest available update to Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP, the install contains a version of the file that is compatible with SEP SBE cloud.

Note: If you are not using Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) you will need to update to IE8 using Windows Update, when updating this way the patch should already be applied.
