Issue/Introduction

You would like more information about updating the Symantec Messaging Gateway BIOS version.

Cause

You have heard that a BIOS update exists for your hardware.

Resolution

Symantec Messaging Gateway uses an OEM BIOS configuration and a default BIOS firmware is not compatible. Updating the BIOS firmware without the correct update will result in an inability for our internal software to identify the appliance as Symantec hardware, as well as having other hardware detection issues.
