Issue/Introduction

With Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) 12.1.6 MP5 firewall installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 (Domain Controller) Service Pack 1, 64-bit running on VMware Virtual Platform crashes unexpectedly with BugCheck 7E and references Teefer.sys.

 

The specific crash or BugCheck 7E is described as the following:  

The SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug check has a value of 0x0000007E. This bug check indicates that a system thread generated an exception that the error handler did not catch.

Cause

Unexpected termination of ccSvcHst.exe (SYSTEM) process during a combination of high network traffic and high CPU usage that leads to memory corruption.
