Unable to manage PMImport languages on Child SMP

Issue/Introduction

Configured the languages on the Parent SMP Server under Console > Home > Patch Management > Windows > Settings > MetaData Import Task (PMImport) to manage for all Child SMP's within Hierarchy, for each Child SMP manages a different location requiring a different language.

Found when configuring the multiple languages needed for the environment on the Parent SMP (e.g. Chinese, Spanish, English and Hungarian), they all replicate to each Child SMP.

Found when deselecting the unwanted languages on the Child SMP Server's PMImport > Languages and clicked Save Changes, but the process fails and the Logs dictate that the PMImport replication is owned by the Parent SMP and is unable to be individually managed on the Child SMP Servers.

Environment

Patch Management 7.5.x, 7.6.x and 8.0 - 8.0 HF5

Cause

This is working as designed.

Resolution

This enhancement will be added in ITMS 8.0 HF6

Please review the following workaround in other currently supported versions:

1. Open the SQL Server Management Studio.
2. Target the Parent SMP Database.
3. Execute the following script: update Item set ProductGuid='C6D19F78-1434-49AC-BEC8-D18255E99F57' where Guid='C6D19F78-1434-49AC-BEC8-D18255E99F57'
4. Target the Child SMP Database and execute the same script from step #3 above.
5. Restart all altiris services on both the Parent & Child SMP Servers.
6. Open the Child SMP Console > Home > Patch Management > Windows > Settings > MetaData Import Task (PMImport)
7. Modify the Languages as needed.
8. Click button 'Save Changes'
