Issue/Introduction

VIP Access Desktop [Windows] upgrade fails and neither install or uninstall will work. 

Error: 1316 The specified account already exists.

 

Environment

Windows 10

Cause

This error has been seen on Windows 10 systems that have been upgraded from Windows 7, after an attempt to upgrade the VIP Access, 

Resolution

Find and delete the registry key for VIP Access under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\
