Software Updates fail to install on support Windows Operating System Clients.
Checked the Altiris Agent GUI and Client Logs; found the Windows System Assessment Scan failing to execute, and the Altiris Agent service would crash following this failure.
Altiris Client Logs display the following entries:
Additionally, seeing Run Failed with Exit code 255 in the Agent GUI > Software Delivery > Patch Windows System Assessment Scan Tool Package > Run History tab:
Patch Management Solution 7.5.x, 7.6.x & 8.x
Confirmed corruption in the Windows System Assessment Scan (WSAS) Package snapshot.xml / snapdata.xml files.
The affected Clients were unable to download the package from the SMP Server with the current hash check.
