Issue/Introduction

When upgrading the Oracle server hosting the protect database on a Windows server the installer won't pass the initial setup process.

INS-30131

Cause - Failed to access the temporary location. 
Action - Ensure that the current user has required permissions to access the temporary location. 

Resolution

Confirm that the Server service is running.
If it is then installer still isn't able to access the temporary location needed to proceed with the installation.
This usually means Administrative Shares need to be enabled.

To enable Administrative Shares, do this: 

  1. Launch RegEdit
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\AutoShareServer

  3. Change the key value from 0 to 1

  4. Restart the Server service

  5. Proceed with Oracle upgrade
