Issue/Introduction

A program is accidentally blocked by Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud (SEP SBE) after a user received a prompt for an unsigned application

Resolution

Open the administrative interface on the SEP SBE cloud agent and change setting to allow for the application currently being blocked under program control

  1.     Open a Command Prompt as an Administrator
  2.     Type the following commands to open the Administrative User Interface:
    • cd c:\
    • cd \program files\Symantec.Cloud\AntiVirus
    • avagent -SHOW_UI
  3.     In the interface that opens, click on Settings
  4.     Select Firewall
  5.     Select the Program Control tab
  6.     Locate the program being blocked and change the setting to allow

Note: If this change needs to be done on several agents program control rules can be created in the Endpoint Protection policy located in the management console
