Issue/Introduction

Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 11 - Network based asset import fails to import Oracle Configured Databases type assets from Solaris based UNIX assets. You are running SCU 2016-1 or 2016-2.

 

No error is displayed in the Asset Import job results - it just doesn't import any assets while all settings and credentials are correct.

 

Environment

Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 11.1 or 11.5 with SCU 2016-1 or 2016-2.

Solaris 10 or 11 on SPARC or Intel UNIX type assets

Oracle 10g, 11i or 12c database.

 

Cause

In SCU 2016-1 an enhanced method or detecting and importing Oracle based assets targeting networked UNIX type assets was introduced. These underlying new commands used to detect and import Oracle based assets contained a defect, causing it to fail to detect and import Oracle based assets targeting networked Solaris assets only.

 

Resolution

SCU 2016-3 due early 2017 will contain a fix for this issue. If you need to resolve this issue before that time, please contact your technical support representative and ask to confirm the issue referring to this technote. Your technical support representative can (if need be) provide an quick fix for on top of SCU 2016-1 or 2016-02.
