Error: Automation UI tabs could not be found

Issue/Introduction

The Automation UI tabs could not be found.Reported an issue with missing tabs under the SMP Console's Manage > Automation Policies page.

ITMS 8.x

Cause

Unknown.

Resolution

Run from the command prompt as Administrator the following (you may need to browse to the proper drive on your server if it is different than C:):

C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\AeXConfig.exe \configure "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris NS Automation\Config\AltirisNSAutomation.config"

In case that the actual Automation Policies are also missing, run the following from the command prompt as well:

C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\Bin\AeXConfig.exe \configure "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris NS Automation\Config\Altiris_NS_Automation_Policies.config"

Note: In some unusual instances you may need also run a repair on altiris_nsautomation_xxx_x64.msi (under C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris) (or the corresponding installed version):

msiexec.exe /i "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Symantec Installation Manager\Installs\Altiris\altiris_nsautomation_xxx_x64.msi" skipaim=1
