When you initiate the backup command at the ATP CLI, the backup command reports "No space left on device", then returns to the the command prompt.

One of the following errors may appear as part of the output:

  • tar: /tmp/symantec/sgs-td/configbackup/config_backup_staging_fBnVM5/stage1/es_backup.tar: Cannot write: No space left on device
  • ERROR Failure running backup, result=1
    backup ends, result=1, backupfile=

This has been addressed in ATP version 2.3. While we have improved our partition management, it is still possible to fill up the disk. If you are unable to successfully backup due to storage issues, please contact support.
