Issue/Introduction

When you remote into Liveupdate Administrator (LUA) outside of local network to the LUA server. Then you use the " forgot your password " option to reset their password it fails for because you are not local to the server.

Cause

No way to configure this in the WEB UI and no other obvious way to change the FQDN or hostname of the system in the URL that is sent through email.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in Liveupdate Administrator version 2.3.6 and later

Workaround:

Edit the file: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\LiveUpdate Administrator\LiveUpdate Administrator.bat" change value for localhost in the URL to either the fully qualified domain name(FQDN) or hostname of the LUA server.

Restart the LUA Apache Tomcat service in services.msc (net stop "LUA Apache Tomcat"/net start "LUA Apache Tomcat")

Verify the password reset emails are now sent with the correct URL link to reset the LUA admin/user password.
