What does the IDMS SQL Option provide?

Resolution

The IDMS SQL Option provides the ability to use SQL to access a network-defined database. The SQL statements used to access this database are the same as those used to access a database that is defined with SQL DDL. You can embed SQL statements in an application program to access the database. 

You can also take advantage of SQL, ODBC, and JDBC connectivity functions to access data from the internet, Windows, Java, and other non-mainframe platforms, and through the usual IDMS tools (for example, OCF, IDMSBCF).
