Issue/Introduction

Users are unable to login to their remote connect, roaming accounts

There are a couple of error messages that users will encounter when not entering the correct password.

  1. The error message shown below, would be displayed after 3 incorrect attempts:

    Authorization Required
    Access to the Web Scanning Service has been denied because your credentials are invalid. Please contact your administrator for further information. 


     
  2. The error message shown below, would be displayed after several incorrect attempts:

    Error: User Locked Out 

    Access to the Web Security Service has been denied. You may have exceeded the maximum number of authentication attempts, your password may have expired or, your roaming access rights may have been disabled. Please contact your administrator for further information and assistance. 

Cause

The account will automatically get locked out if the password is entered incorrectly 3 or more times in a row. The username and password are case sensitive

Resolution

In both scenarios, a password reset will re-establish access to the remote connect, user roaming account. To have the users reset their own password, follow the remote connect password reset process
