Issue/Introduction

Boot to production task fails to complete once the system is back in production

To duplicate:

  1. Create a job with the following tasks:
    1. Boot to automation
    2. Deploy Image
    3. Boot to production
    4. Run script task
  2. Sometimes,  when the system boots back to production, the boot to production task NEVER reports back successful.  This causes ANY taks after task #3 above to not be executed.

The boot to production task never reports back that it is complete.

Environment

DS 8.0 HF2

Cause

The issue is caused because the default task check timeout is being set to either 1 or 5 minutes, depending on the task.  The task server would 'time-out' on the 'boot to production' task before the SMA agent had a chance to check back into the NS.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in 8.0 HF3 by increasing the CTA timeout to 30 minutes for automation tasks.

NOTE:  Preboots MUST be recreated after the packages in 8.0 HF3 have been updated on the Package Servers.
