PMImport clean-up fails to disable adverts for Superseded updates in Software Update Policy

Issue/Introduction

Reviewed for Microsoft Update: MSWU-1803-KB3118401 was Superseded by KB3125574; however, the Software Update Policy for MSWU-1803 failed to be disabled on the affected Software Update Advertisements following clean-up run of the Import Patch Data for Windows (PMImport) with the Disable all superseded Software Updates setting enabled.

 

Cause

Confirmed the advertisements are disabled on the targeting Patch Filter; however, the advertisements are not disabled due to a caching issue on the Console.

Resolution

This issue will be resolved in SMP 8.0 HF3.

Workaround: Found the issue was resolved after closing and reopening the Console.

Note: This is not a browser caching issue but an SMP caching issue caused within the product code.
