Issue/Introduction

When installing a Symantec Endpoint Protection client the install fails with "Error 1324. The path Program Files contains an invalid character.". Error 1324. The path Program Files contains an invalid character.

Cause

Verify that the path the client is set to install to is a valid drive letter and not a CD/DVD drive.

Resolution

Create a new installation package that is set to install to a drive that is valid on the machine that is having the problem.
