Symantec Exchange Submission Client (SESC) installation is failing or rolling back with error 1721

Issue/Introduction

You are trying to install Symantec Exchange Submission Client SESC 2.0 and installation is rolling back and you are getting the following error in SESC_VERBOSE_LOG

Resolution

In order to resolve the issue, please do the following.

  • Disable Tamper Protection in Symantec Endpoint Protection or Similar feature in your Antivirus installed on the server or create an exception for SESC installer.
  • Disable User Access Control (UAC) and try to install SESC again
