Issue/Introduction

Adding files to a nested folder using the Software Library in the package builder adds file to the root instead of the selected folder

Environment

Software Management Solution 7.6 HF (Hot Fix) 7.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in 8.1.
A point-fix is available for version 7.6 HF7.

To apply the fix, please follow these instructions:

1. Log onto the SMP (Symantec Management Platform) server as the Application credentials.
2. Copy the contents of the attached archive to the SMP server to a location that is not within the Altiris install location.
3. Run the PFInstaller.exe and follow onscreen prompts.

THIS HOT FIX HAS THE FOLLOWING KNOWN ISSUES:
After point fix is installed you need to reset IE settings to proper work of the java applet (Open Internet options -> Advanced Tab -> Under Reset Internet Explorer settings click button "Reset…" -> enable checkbox for Delete personal settings and click Reset button). Same issue if you want to rollback pointfix.
