EDPA agent service stops running unexpectedly

Issue/Introduction

The EDPA service stops running without warning on Windows endpoints. 

Running the Windows Event Viewer returns the following error message: 

Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for boost_thread-vc100-mt-gd-1_54.dll

Cause

Microsoft Security Advisory 3033929 is not running on the Windows endpoint.

Resolution

Apply the update, which you can download from here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/3033929.aspx.
