Configuration saved but cannot be published to some SMG hosts

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to add a scanner or save a change in the Control Center and returns the following error:

This may have begun following the upgrade from version 10.5.x to 10.6.x.

May 09 2016 22:04:16 [PublishingThread-2] [PublisherJob] ERROR - can't publish configuration to host: smg-1.domain.com com.symantec.smg.controlcenter.BrightmailException: Cannot parse invalid XML. ; nested exception is: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 1; columnNumber: 1; Premature end of file.

Environment

Messaging Gateway 10.6.1

Cause

The Control Center xml parser is not being passed the entire configuration file resulting in a failure to vaidate that the configuration file is well formed.

Resolution

This issue has been addressed with the Messaging Gateway 10.6.2 release.

Workaround

At the moment there is no workaround other than to trim unneeded policy groups and policies from the Messaging Gateway configuration to bring the stored configuration file under 7MB.
