Issue/Introduction

Schemus is unable to download a large data set and returns an error when a refresh is performed.

There was a problem communicating with the Symantec.cloud service server:
WS Security The message has expired (WSSecurityEngine: Invalid timestamp The security semantics of the message have expired) com.metanate.schemus.data.sink.SinkException: Can not update domain.com

Cause

This error is seen when schemus is doing a refresh involving a large data set as the default refresh timeout period is 5 minutes.

Resolution

Ensure that Schemus is not running then copy Schemus-20160512.jar to the following location:

<Schemus install directory>\application\bin

where <Schemus install directory> is the directory in which the application is installed, for example C:\Program Files\Schemus.

To verify that the patch file is being used by Schemus:

  1. On the top menu bar, click on Help > About
  2. Scroll to the bottom to click on 'Plugins'.
    The list should contain the patch, version 1.50-20160512.
