Issue/Introduction

HKEY_USER Detection Rules Registry Value are always evaluated as "Not Detected" even if the reg value exists, and no remediation ever occurs.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in version 8.0. In version 7.6 HF7, a point-fix is available.

HOW TO INSTALL THE POINTFIX

  1. Download the attached files to the Symantec Management Platform server, in a directory that is not wihtin the install directory of the SMP.
  2. Log into the server as the Application Credentials (Identity).
  3. Execute PFInstaller.exe.
  4. When completed, enable the upgrade for the Symantec Management Agent. This upgrade will apply the fix to all clients.
