ATP device might be showing system health messages about update errors even when software upgrade completed successfully

After successful upgrade, the ATP UI might be showing following message in System Health section of the GUI: "Device encountered an error during software update" or "An error ocured during software update. Run 'update status' from the command-line for details."


Symantec is aware of this issue and will update this document when a solution becomes available. Please subscribe to this article to be notified of any updates.

How to verify actual upgrade status from admin CLI:

(1) admin> update status

(2) admin> less /var/log/symantec/sgs-td/update.log

In case it is possible to verify software update was completed successfully, there is a manual workaround available to remove the message from System Health. Please contact support for details.
