Issue/Introduction

Symantec Endpoint Encryption 11.1.0 client on a Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 3 - Stuck at Windows logo spinning dots during bootup. Drive: Toshiba THNSFJ256GDNU

After installation on endpoint, drive says that its encrypted (OPAL drive). But on reboot, one can pass thru Symantec Endpoint Encryption preboot but is then stuck indefinitely at the Windows 10 logo spinning dots screen.

Resolution

 

Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers.  This issue is currently being considered by Symantec Corporation to be addressed in a forthcoming version or Maintenance Pack of the product.

This issue has been fixed in SEE 11.1.2 HF1.

Please contact Support if you need this hot fix.

 

SEE 11.1.2 HF1 also fixes the same issue with the Toshiba THNSNJ512GCSU 2.5 inch SATA 3 SSD device.
