Environment

Release:
Component: GEN

Resolution

Since r19 of CA Database Management Solutions for z/OS for DB2 the new Utility Process Manager (UPM) is a design and function of a new subtask service running under XMANAGER. The service is initially intended to perform services to utilities and support a new –DISPLAY CA UPM command that will return the status of the UPM. This may include information on attached utilities and DB2 subsystems

The UPM operates as a subtask of the XMANAGER address space. Normally when there are no services being used, this subtask is in a wait state.

There is no method to disable or disconnect the UPM.
