Issue/Introduction

Notification Server logs are full of errors:

Current User [Account] Does Not Have Required Permission Read To Load Item 'Software Key Executable'

Cause

Possibly agents are trying to send in Application Metering data but there is a permissions problem with the account that the Agents use.

Resolution

1. In Global Agent Settings in the Authentication tab check if the Agent Connectivity Credential uses application credentials (AppID) or other credentials
2. If it is a different account than the AppID make sure that the account is in the Symantec Adminstrators role
3. If the account is the AppID or in the Symantec Administrators role right-click on a random filter in the console, open a Properties window, then replace the Item GUID in the address with 714D2100-8C0B-4E61-A197-1E2937BDDFA8 or any guid that appears in the errors. For example: http://localhost/Altiris/NS/ItemPropertiesNS7.aspx?ItemGuid=714D2100-8C0B-4E61-A197-1E2937BDDFA8&view=properties&ConsoleGuid={3faa8b67-250b-42ad-8186-fe2f49a9e707}
4. If that brings up a window look at the security tab and make sure that the Symantec Administrators role has all the permissions enabled.
