Issue/Introduction

Is there a way to prevent ADSALIVE from being automatically enabled at startup but allow it to be manually enabled when needed and then later disabled?

Release: All supported releases.
Component: ADS/Alive

Resolution

ADS/Alive is enabled normally by defining an autotask called USGAFIX which runs at startup and makes dynamic changes to executable load module ADSOMAIN.

Delete the USGAFIX autotask definition so that this does not happen and so ADS/Alive is disabled by default.

Then, to enable ADS/Alive, simply invoke USGAFIX from the ENTER NEXT TASK CODE: prompt.

To disable it again, issue DCMT V PRO *.ADSOMAIN NCI to re-load the vanilla copy of ADSOMAIN.
