Cause

The error message appears because ITMS Management Views 8.0 and Asset Management Solution 8.0 use the IIS 7.0/7.5 functionality that can be missing on Windows 2008 R2 servers that have not been updated for a long time.

Environment

ITMS 8.0
IIS 7.0 or IIS 7.5 installed on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:

• Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2)
• Windows Server 2008 SP2
• Windows 7
• Windows Server 2008 R2

Resolution

1. Install targeted MS hotfix https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/980368
2. Install all latest updates within "Windows updates".
