WCC Reporting screen, cannot export to Excel

Issue/Introduction



I generated a job detail report for an 8 hour period, about 7k pages.  Once the report is complete I can export it to a pdf but when I try to export to Excel which is what we need I get an error message

"The report cannot be exported; an error occurred during the export:

Request to server failed."

I don't see anything in the log files.  We need a better explanation of what's caused the failure.  Is it memory, disk space, server issue?

Resolution

Due to the size of the output of the report, it was exceeding what Excel was able to handle. 

The user was able to uncover the issue by enabling debug options within Excel.

That led to a more informative error message on the Excel side.  

Unfortunately if Excel does not display the more informative error/message without debug, WCC cannot either.
