Control Compliance Suite Windows

Issue/Introduction

Control Compliance Suite (CCS) jobs created with certain user ID, if the User ID is disabled in Windows AD will the jobs continue to run.

It will pop up an error-
"An error occurred while attempting to run the scheduled job.
Reason for failure-Password does not exist for user "Domain Name\User Name.
Either no password is specified for scheduling jobs or the password present in the system is not valid".

Resolution

  • If a user "X" creates a certain job in CCS and schedules it and if the User "X" gets disabled/deleted in AD then the scheduled job will fail to run as per the schedule. It will pop up an error-

"An error occurred while attempting to run the scheduled job.

  • Reason for failure-
    • Password does not exist for user "Domain Name\X.
    • Either no password is specified for scheduling jobs or the password present in the system is not valid"
  • Now there are two options to run this scheduled job-
  1. The logged in CCS Administrator should right click on the said job and run it manually.
  2. The logged in CCS Administrator can reschedule the same job to run as per the new scheduled provided the following steps are performed
  1. In the CCS Console navigate to Settings->Map View->Right Click on Application Server
    • Edit Settings
    • Here make sure that under Application Server the Authentication Type is-
    • "Use Control Compliance Suite to store the password".
  2. In the CCS Console navigate to Home-User Preferences
    • Enter the password of the logged in CCS Administrator
    • Now the logged in CCS Administrator can reschedule the same job and it will continue to run as per the new schedule.
