Microsoft Bulletin: MS15-115 installs before MS15-122 on clients
Microsoft details that update KB3081320 in MS15-121 and update KB3101746 in MS15-115 are releasing concurrently with KB3101246 in this bulletin, MS15-122. Customers who intend to install all three updates manually on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 should install the updates in the following order: MS15-122--KB3101246 first, MS15-121--KB3081320 second and MS15-115---KB3101746 third.
Additionally, the update KB3107416 in MS15-115 and update KB3101246 in MS15-122 are released concurrently with updateKB308120 in this bulleting, MS15-121. Customers who intend to install all three updates manually on Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 should install the updates in the following order: KB3101246 first, KB3101746 second, and KB308130 third (this is taken care of automatically for customers with automatic updating enabled).
Confirmed that the Software Update Cycle runs and the updates from MS15-122 install prior to MS15-115.
Targeting was re-defined by the vendor following public release.
Additionally, found some updates fail to install with 'Not Applicable' or 'Already Installed' (Error Message: 2359302 or 0) returned as a result and outlined further on TECH233527.
Installation pre-requisites re-redefined by vendor post publication of these recently released Software Bulletins.
This issue was resolved in PMImport v7.0.1443.1 released on 12/10/15.
Note: Any clients that have already ran the Software Update Cycle with the old targeting rule logic may need to have the updates uninstalled and then allow for retarget and reinstall to set the client back in order moving forward. A Task Job can be created to run on the client and execute a script to uninstall these updates as outlined on HOWTO42396 in correlation with the attached uninstall script (Uninstall Script...) for these specific Software Updates.
