Using DeployAnywhere to install unsigned drivers

Issue/Introduction

DeployAnywhere may have issues deploying unsigned drivers that have been added to the driver database. This can cause drivers to not be installed properly after image deployment or Scripted OS Installs.

When this happens, missing drivers for devices are apparent in Device Manager on clients that have run DeployAnywhere after image deployment.

Environment

Ghost Solution Suite 3.x.x
Deployment Solution 8.x.x

Cause

DPinst.exe is not configured to 'Bypass Driver Validation'

Resolution

In DS 8.x, DPinst.exe runs during mini-setup to allow unsigned drivers to be installed. To use unsigned drivers set: 'Bypass Driver Validation: All'

DS Imaging task:

For Scripted OS Install:

In Ghost Solution Suite 3.3.x Deploy Image task:

Select Use DeployAnywhere hardware independent Image > 'Advanced' Button

add /byPassDrvVali=All to the to Parameters section
