Issue/Introduction

Your Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition cloud (SEP SBE) client is offline after deploying a golden or ghost image with it included.

Cause

During the installation of a SEP SBE client an identity is created and registered with the cloud to allow direct one-to-one communication. When that client is deployed on another physical device, that device assumes this identity and now receives the communications from the cloud.

Resolution

All clients that come from a cloned image need to be reinstalled to create the one-to-one relationship. To deploy SEP SBE.cloud across multiple devices it is preferable to use Active Directory deployment, however, other third party deployment solutions can be used.
