Cause

Powerpoint 2013 and Symantec File Share Encryption may have some conflicts in rare circumstances.  In general, Office 2013 products work just fine with Symantec Encryption Desktop products.

Resolution

Although a very rare occurrence, if FileShare Encryption is not needed, installing without this component can workaround the issue.

Uninstall the software, and reinstall from the command line with the following install string:

msiexec /i pgpdesktop.msi PGP_INSTALL_LSP=0

For more information on how to use the above string, see article HOWTO84112

Alternatively, locating and merging the following file into the registry should restore functionality to the system:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\PGPlspRollback.reg

Once this has been merged into the registry, reboot the system and normal functionality should be restored.
