Issue/Introduction

7.6 HF4
The default target 'All computers requiring Deployment Site Server Component' references filters that look for plugin version >= 7.6.1626 which is a condition that cannot be satisfied given the current version of the plugin is 7.6.1625.

This policy had a repeating schedule, we found that the install was repeating over and over on the targeted machines.
This is not an issue with the schedule, it's an issue with the logic in the filter.

If a repeating schedule is selected, since the machines will not fall out of the filter, the install will repeat indefinitely.

Cause

Known issue, development is investigating.

Target on Policy is "All Computers requiring Deployment Site Server Component Upgrade (x64) (Target)"

Filter inside target is "Computers requiring Deployment Task Server Component upgrade (x64)"

Filter referenced inside the above filter (as an exclusion) "Computers with latest Deployment Task Server Component installed (x64)"

SQL logic inside selects plugins >= '7.6.1626'

---------------------------------------------------------------------

All site servers at DS plugin version 7.6.1625 (current at time of writing) will not fall into this logic. If no machines are selected there, then none are excluded from "Computers requiring Deployment Task Server Component upgrade (x64)" which means they will always stay targeted.

Resolution

Turn the policy off after the plugins have been confirmed to be upgraded, or use 'Run once ASAP' for the schedule instead of a repeating one.

OR

-Navigate in the console to manage > filters

-Clone the filter "Computers with latest Deployment Task Server Component installed (x64)"

-Edit the clone's SQL logic to say 7.6.1625 instead of 7.6.1626

-Clone the filter "Computers requiring Deployment Task Server Component upgrade (x64)"

-Edit the clone's explicit exclusions and replace with the clone of "Computers with latest Deployment Task Server Component installed (x64)" from above

-Clone the policy "Deployment site server components (x64) - Upgrade"

-turn off the original policy

-Delete the target in the cloned policy

-Apply the newly created clone of filter "Computers requiring Deployment Task Server Component upgrade (x64)"

-Turn on the newly cloned policy
