Issue/Introduction

There is a requirement to release one or more messages from the quarantine. Emails are indeed released, however an error message appears.

It is also observed, that the submission service on the dashboard is not available.

"Cannot submit the selected message(s) to Symantec Security Response. Control Center command error: curl: (35) error:1407742E:SSL_23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:tlsv1 alert protocol version"

Cause

The firewall is interfering with HTTPS communication on port 443 from the SMG to submission servers and is not allowing the communication to take place unimpeded.

Resolution

Please disable any interference and/or inspection of HTTPS traffic on port 443 on your firewall.

Alternatively following option can be disabled on SMG: Spam->Quarantine Settings->Submit to Symantec Security Response
