Issue/Introduction

Unable to start the Control Compliance Suite (CCS) Application Server Service. Unable to launch the Control Compliance Suite(CCS) Console.

Error 1053-The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Windows Event Viewer shows the following error message-
The Symantec Application Server Service terminated unexpectedly.

Environment

CCS 12.6.x Application Server 

CCS databases: CSM_Db and CSM_Reports

Resolution

Verify that the following:

1. Verify the following service on the SQL Server hosting the CCS databases is running.  If it is not running, restart it:
   
   SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)
2. Verify there is enough free space on the database.
3. Make sure that able to ping and telnet to SQL Server on port 1433 if SQL is installed on different Server
