Issue/Introduction

Unable to start the Control Compliance Suite (CCS) Application Server Service. Unable to launch the Control Compliance Suite(CCS) Console.

Error 1053-The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Windows Event Viewer shows the following error message-
The Symantec Application Server Service terminated unexpectedly.

Cause

1. There are many reasons for this issue to happen.
2. Troubleshooting needs to be performed on the basis of diagnosis.
3. In this case, the following service on the SQL Server hosting the CCS database was stopped which needed a restart.

           SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)

Resolution

1. Start the SQL Server Service.
2. Then try to restart the Symantec Application Server Service.
3. It should come up fine and user should be able to launch the CCS console.
